Women's Meeting

Bette Sue spoke on friendship at a women's meeting at Kelyje (church-plant by David and Kandra Millsaps) in Vilnius.  It was a time to talk about the joys and challenges in developing friends.  (Thanks to Gita's faithful interpreting, Assistant Pastor at Kelyje.)

Shakotis

 Shakotis is Bette Sue's favorite traditional cake in Lithuania.  The word means Tree Cake.  Other countries make it too but the form is different in each place and the taste varies too.

For the first time, we got to see the Shakotis being made.  It was really fun and we even got to ladle the dough onto the cake.  It is roasted in front of a fire and the cake continues to rotate and cook.  It was a special day for us to arrive at the restaurant as they were making a cake.  This restaurant/bakery is in the area near the camp and we had been there to visit with our friends, Mike and Debbie Bannon, for the last time this term

Fall time

 It is a little harder to watch the leaves falling in our yard this year since our building is surrounded with scaffolding for a new roof, insulation, and painting that is going to happen.  (Hopefully before winter!)    The colors are so beautiful though.  It is wonderful that God gave us such beauty to enjoy!!!!!

Teen Challenge Leaders

Recently the Teen Challenge Leaders for Lithuania met for their monthly meeting.  They came to our home this time for a Mexican lunch and their time together.

Teen Challenge Lithuania Annual Conference

 Our annual Teen Challenge Lithuania Conference was held at Kaunas Christian Church.

 The worship team blessed us with their ministry.

 Zbigniew Urbaniak, the Teen Challenge Poland Director blessed us with two messages for the day. 


 

 Testimonies were shared by graduates from the program.  We heard from three graduates and saw how God has miraculously turned their lives around.  Dalia, has a totally new life and was recently healed of cancer as well.  PTL!!!!

 Pastor Rytis has been instrumental in the developing of Teen Challenge from the beginning and works closely with Bob in the leadership of this great ministry as well as pastoring Kaunas Christian Church.
