Last December...

...we were in Moldova for our leadership team meetings with the other Country Coordinators from Eurasia Northwest. We meet together twice a year for plans and ministry strategy in our Area.

It was our first trip to Moldova and it was good to see a little of the country where Andy and Nancy Raatz and the missionary team works.

It was Christmas time and we were outside at an open market one day.

We even did some shopping at a local shopping center named "Mall Dova!"

While eating in a local restaurant, this young man played us a few songs on this Moldovan wood-wind instrument.

We are thankful for the ministry that is happening in Moldova and in our whole Area.

Parade

The other day we were driving home and saw cars slowing down for what seemed like a parade. We got these pictures taken and then asked a friend what it was about.

Each year different departments at the University celebrate a Faculty Day. This parade was from the Physics Faculty Day celebration. The symbol for this department is a dragon. (Our picture of the large dragon float was blurred!) The students were traveling in large trucks and cars waving flags to honor the faculty from the Physics department.

They often walk around in Old Town and bring their celebration wherever they go. These are traditions from the University in Vilnius.

Elektrenai Marriage Seminar

We were privileged to go to Elektrenai (just 40 minutes from our home) for a combined Marriage Seminar with the Pentecostal Union church and the Word of Faith church in this city. It was a great time together.

Our prayer is that the Lord will use these seminars to encourage others. Single Moms were there as well and they said it helped them in understanding how to relate to their children. PTL!

Mourning Days

Lithuania has been in mourning for three days. They are sharing in the grief with their Polish neighbors in the loss of their President and his wife and cabinet members. This was a tragic accident and we are praying for the people of Poland.

All flags have been flying for three days and have a black ribbon flowing at the top as a sign of mourning.

Easter Monday

We had a nice time celebrating Easter at our home on Monday. The Lithuanians have a holiday on Easter Monday too. Most of the time this is a day to be with family and not have to go to work.

We were with our missionary family and had a wonderful day together.

Pentecostal Union's Annual Pastors Meeting

The first weekend of March was the meeting with all the pastors in the Pentecostal Union. We had a blessed weekend. Solomon Wang was the speaker and he challenged everyone in the area of Evangelism. Solomon is an A/G missionary living in Kiev, Ukraine and is the President of the Theological Seminary there. He was very inspiring and brought the blessing of God to the meetings.
