IN HONOR OF OUR FRIEND

Last week our friend, Juri Filipov, went home to be with the Lord. Juri was the Director of the Men's Teen Challenge Center in Vilnius and served the Lord faithfully from the beginning days of Teen Challenge in Lithuania as the Director. He will be very missed.

It is interesting how they put all the flowers over the graves. It makes a very beautiful view of the grave. After awhile the family comes back and clears away the flowers and plants more permanent things. As you can see, there were many graves covered in the area.

THANKS TO YOU...SPEED-THE-LIGHT!

We just got our new vehicle! It is a HONDA CR-V and we are so thankful to be able to purchase this car to use for the next two terms of ministry here. (It just fits into the garage behind it!)

The Assemblies of God system works like this...the youth in our churches raise money to purchase vehicles and things that "Speed the Light" of the Gospel. This is a tremendous blessing for us as missionaries. We tell everyone about the youth and how hard they work to raise funds for cars, planes, boats, etc. for missionaries everywhere.

Our Michigan youth have committed to raising the funds for our Honda. They are working hard now to send the money. We were able to buy it ahead with their commitment to send the money as they get it. Please keep them in prayer for God's blessings as they diligently work to help us as well as other missionaries.

We could not work in Lithuania without a vehicle. We needed something to handle the roads at our campgrounds and other rural areas that we visit and give us good gas mileage. (We are paying over $6.00 a gallon for gas.) We ask God to keep His angels about us at all times and protect this wonderful gift that has come to us from SPEED-THE-LIGHT! THANK YOU TO THE YOUTH IN MICHIGAN!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE TERRIFIC!!!!!!!!!!!!

SPRING IS COMING

Spring is in the air...the trees are budding and the smaller bushes have that beautiful fresh, new green on them already. Even our "Christmas Cactus" has joined in the blossoming!

This is the time of "new beginnings" every year. The fresh air, bright greens everywhere, people preparing their gardens and cleaning their yards. It is all happening around us and gives such a good feeling. (Also makes me aware of my dirty windows that need to be washed!) We are so thankful for the new beginnings that God gives us each day. It is nice to start fresh, see the new opportunities around us and go after them with confidence that the Lord will help us in all we do.

MATT

It has been almost three months since we left Matt. This is what he was looking like when we left. Most likely he hasn't changed all that much. We are sure we will still recognize him when we go to the states to get him settled at Evangel in the fall. He is in our prayers daily! We know God is taking care of him and we are all growing during this time. We miss having him here with us but we are excited about what God has planned for his life!
